At 7.30 P. M. there was still a certain amount

of excitement. I can't say whether the two midship cargo

ports could be opened for they are never open.

I noticed that no passengers appeared to be

grabbing baggage lying on the wharf.

Police and fire brigade officers were employed

recovering bodies and giving first aid.

The Police were fully occupied and could not

possibly have checked as to whether passengers were picking

up their own baggage or not.

The Police did their work good.

The foregoing is a true record of the

evidence I have given.

Sd. Charles Trott.
